Prospects Put Cats' Threads Into Action

Seems a handful of teams have sent their rookies to Traverse City this weekend with their new Rbk EDGE uniforms. All right so not everybody is in Michigan. These guys are in Kitchener, Ontario. (Thanks for pointing that out to me in the comments, guys. I should read more!)

Anyway, it's cool because it gives us a preview of what's to come, not only in talent, but aesthetically as well. The Florida Panthers prospects were wearing the new threads and we have pictures courtesy of the Ottawa Senators' official web site.

I know a lot of people have been complaining, but if you ask me, these jerseys look pretty damn good in action.

What do you guys think? Do you like what you're seeing so far? Or are you dreading the new season?

The shoulder area of these ones (Panthers) are very well made.

i'm dreading this season, my only hope is that fans reject rbk's manipulation of the the sports history and appearance.
When baseball started getting too far out there in appearance things really settled down and got back to tradition. I'm hoping hockey will do the same. That's not to say i don't love some of the more traditional designs on the tighter fit.

The Panthers and Sens aren't at the Wings camp in Traverse City.

Teams in TC are Atlanta, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, N.Y. Rangers, Tampa Bay and St. Louis.

you people saying the jerseys are going to ruin the season are ridiculous. You're saying your hockey purists or huge fans of the game and such. Yet, you cant see past the jerseys and WATCH THE GAME OF HOCKEY!

The game and competition is as good as its ever been (minus some of the shoddy calls). But obviously changing the jerseys is a bit of a money grab and an experiment by the league to advance the game through 'technology'.

Get over it and watch the game. This isnt a fashion show.

that wasnt aimed directly to anyone in this thread, other than possibly eric. Rather, it was just a general comment that I had to get off my chest.

Those old Sens jerseys are so much better looking than their new ones. Same goes for the Panthers, but to a lesser degree. That half-arm stripe is goofy.

well said josh, if you think jerseys are going to ruin the sport of hockey you are delusional.

Hey Chris, you might wanna see if you can get pics from the leafs vs. pens rookie game, the pens were wearing their new jerseys.

And i completely agree with the tyboughner and the other josh, look past the jerseys and watch the game we all love!

I think almost all the unis are upgrades and the new logos are all great, especially the bjs and caps. Not really diggin the cats and preds, lame names and logos

Well at least the Sens are not using those God awful socks...apparently someone out there pays attention to public consensus...

charlie, i wouldn't be too quick on that idea. i dont think some of the teams are wearing their nhl game shorts/socks. i know for a fact that the picture i posted above with the penguins, the players are not wearing the game shorts/socks so they may still be using aforementioned pants/socks combo

Oh crap...canaanregulatesblog, you're right! I did some more reading.

Those socks are gonna be brutal.
