idk why everyone hates the fisherman.. That was their best logo... and it made the most sense.

btw, did you guys see the sweaters they came out with with the logo as the main crest? Rather hideous!!
This is a poorly constructed poll.
Because of the way it is set up, people who like the classic design are actually splitting the vote between two logo choices, which leaves the possibility that, although 65% of the voters actually believe the current logo Design to be the best, the 35% who prefer the fisherman and vote for it will actually show up as the winner of the poll, because of the split vote.
Fisherman is definitely the better logo. The color scheme was horrible though. If only they could have used the classic colors better in the mix, they would have had a real winner instead of Rangers fans creating the exit strategy for the Islanders.

the fisherman logo is too cartoony. he's not even holding the right stick to guard the net. general hockey logos are about simplicity not this poor designing or concept.

why on earth does the gordon fisherman have 26% of the vote? it should have 3%. too many unintelligent homers keep selecting the dumbest logo ever made in the NHL.

I don't think any of these logos are very good, but the newest one looks better than the other 2 imo... Altho I do like how the sweater color becomes the more predominant background color in the 1972 logo. If the islanders got better colors and did it like the 1972 jersey, that would be good.
The fisherman logo may not be a good looking logo, but I think it looks better than the other two.
i hate the fisherman. meanwhile, their current is one of my favs... dont ask ;)
The Islanders logo is an absolute classic. Anyone who voted for the fisherman is a nutjob.
On the ice this season, watch them prove all the sports writers and pundits wrong again this coming season. The Isles will make the playoffs.
Islanders get a new logo designer the island with an NY in a circle is dumb, though there isn't much to go on with a name like "the Islanders" my point remains valid
I went with the New school of the old school, I didn't like Captain Highlinder, everytime I watched them play I got hungry.

To all the non-Islander fans who like the Fisherman logo, you can have it! And to all you Islander fans who think the Navy Blue & Burnt Orange colored logo, along with the embarassing army stripes on the jerseys is cool, you all should stick your head in the freezer with a box of fishsticks. The original Royal Blue & Orange colored logo is the look of a winner. 4 Stanley Cups! I believe that team with Gretzky & Messier, oh..the Oilers won some Stanley Cups with those colors as well. Tradition never fades!
