I like the new school, its slicker than Oil.
So what was the big deal about loving this logo because it is "classic"? It's from 1988!
I miss the hint of red accents from the late 80's jerseys. Though I don't miss the super primary color angled jersey with the music bar stripes of the gretzky era there...
1998 one is the best, it's simple and the colors compliment one another.

Try 1967. How many teams have a logo that's over 40 years old? The Bluenote is the most distinctive logo in all of sports.
Typo, meant '98.
And if you don't count '98 as the year that the logo is from, then why wasn't the Pens' logo heralded as a "classic"? It's from 1967 too.
The current (98) logo is awesome. I like the hard edges and colors much better than their previous incarnations.
