Pondering The Lightning Logo Leak
John over at Boltsmag has taken the time to write down his thoughts on what may or may not be the new Lightning logo. Along with him, I posted that supposedly leak image a couple weeks ago.
I haven't thought about it as in depth but I do not like the wordmarks. There is no question about that. And if I had to choose one of those logos to go with next year, it'd be the secondary one with the state of Florida in the background and without the wordmark. Do you have any thoughts you'd like to share?

I like the second one, but I find the top of it to be unpleaasantly bare? Perhaps a cloud added onto the top could help round it out.
...And yeah, those wordmarks are horrible.
I like the second one too...but more as a secondary mark. I hate the current Lightning logo and think that the new "official" versions I've seen are only slight improvements.

I didn't make mention in the post I put up but the wordmarks -- I haven't figured out what the font name is for the text but I have found why I believe the font looks very familiar:
If you look into the font face Star Jedi (basically the Star Wars logo text) you will see that the font the Lightning are using is a mirror of that -- just slimmed down.
