OK, let's get the "V" out of here. Yes, it's stupid, but it's not a logo. (And the stick-in-rink is pretty stupid too.)
The stick is an awesome vintage logo. It's simple and classic. The V sucks. Just plain and simple it sucks.
The stick is simple and annoying but I respect it as a classic. The V is gaudy God awful and far worse in this match up.
I only voted for the V because the Stick in Rink logo is a classic. However, if the Stick logo were in the V colours, I would have voted for the navy and maroon version. I always loved the yellow, red-orange, and black look. Navy and maroon is just another version of blue and red. It's just too common.
ATTENTION ALL CANUCK FANS AND NON-CANUCK FANS
This is irrelevent to this poll, but because the Canucks have had far too much criticism and ridicule for past logos and designs, I want to let everyone know that the Canucks have the Johnny Canuck V logo trademarked. This is NOT a joke! For those who haven't seen it, it is the head of the classic Johnny Canuck lumberjack on the top of a V, similiar in design of the Stick in Rink logo. I saw this logo on a toy hockey stick in a store and the item has the NHL licensed product logo on it. I have a hunch that this logo could be on a third jersey next year and eventually, replacing the breeching corporate Orca C logo. The Johnny Canuck V logo has really grown on me. It is simple in design and it truly says "Vancouver Canucks". I put it in the same class as Montreal's CH and Chicago's Chief Black Hawk crests. Check out Chris Creamer's sports logos and go to the Canucks logo history page. This new classic logo has TM next to it. WE ARE CANUCKS, NOT ORCAS!
So the team has trademarked it but doesn't have it on a uniform...
I'm guessing that's because it's a good logo and they don't want to mess with their tradition? ;-)
Bitter much, daniel?
"V" is for victory!
I love the stick in rink but I actually really like the updated version of it which they wear on the shoulders of their current uniform. I voted against the stick-in-rink because it is NOT supposed to be red and blue. as much as I hated the era of orange and black, the absolute worst jerseys in the history of the Canucks were the red and blue orca jerseys.
I don't hate the orca.. I actually really like the orca. But I *HATE* that combination of colours.
thank you... finally, someone else who likes the Orca.
i loved the orca when it first came out. even the blue and maroon one... i like the one thay have now better though. i love the green, blue and silver.
Just because the team is called the Canucks, it doesn't necessarily have to have Johnny Canuck or any other canuck in the logo. The Canadiens logo doesn't have a Canadien in it, yet it was still voted the best logo in the league. And the orca is a good symbol of vancouver, plus it has Coast Salish inspired art, another symbol of vancouver.
Yes, I'm bitter because my team (the Penguins) has only won 2 Cups compared to Vancouver's... never mind :-P
No, actually I just find it really funny that the Canucks have had so many logos over the course of their history, and somehow they still haven't managed to come up with a good one. So I like teasing about it :-)

Except for the stick-in-rink logo, of course. :o)
Anonymous, you need to understand something. Yes, the Canucks and the Canadiens have really the same name. However, most people in the U.S. and EVEN in parts of Canada don't know what a Canuck is or the history behind Vancouver's team name. People know what a Canadien is - a habitant of Canada or French Canada, because the name is spelled in French, Canadiens, not Canadians. I agree, the Orca is a symbol of Vancouver, but it doesn't define the history of the Canucks' name. Johnny Canuck is Canada's Uncle Sam who symbolizes bravery and courage. Those are two characteristics one would want in hockey players. The Chicago Blackhawks don't just have some Native Indian head logo. Their crest is Chief Black Hawk, who was located in the area, now known as the state of Illinois. The Johnny Canuck V is the best logo the Canucks can ever use. The blue, white, and green V represents Vancouver and its natural beauty and the head of Johnny Canuck represents the history and the origins of the Canucks' name. You love the Orca, fair enough, and I love the Stick and the Skate. However, if the Canucks had the Johnny Canuck V from Day One, there would have never been all these logo and uniform changes. WE ARE CANUCKS, NOT ORCAS!
