How I Feel About Brodeur

I don't know if any of you read my previous blog, Cathode Rays & Power Plays, but I wanted to carry something over from it. (I'm not going to link to it because I don't update it anymore.)

I covered last year's playoffs and every chance I got posted a picture of Devils goalie Martin Brodeur with a puck in the net behind him. It's not that I hate him or anything — well, maybe it is — but I thought I'd continue the tradition over there of posting my favorite pictures of him.

That just makes a person feel good, doesn't it?

Not that you were wondering, but Vinny Lecavalier scored on him twice last night in the Bolts' 3-1 in the season opener. GO BOLTS!

All right, now, just so you guys know, I'm not meaning to be a complete ass here. Just thought it would be funny. I have loads of respect for Brodeur as a goaltender, but he's always been a Lightning killer and so it just brings me so much joy when my Bolts can get a puck by him.

I like seeing Brodeur get thumped too. Nice win and nice way to start the season.

Brodeur can lose 6-0 one night and get a shootout the next game.

Forgot to say that last night I tried all of the new jersey's at a local store.

Seeing them and wearing them are two different things. I think that only 3-4 teams stand out of the crowd.

Surprisingly, the canucks jersey is superb. The other one that got my attention were the Devils one. A great red and black combo.

The blues are very good, but the dissapointment came from the Flames. What a donwgrade. That blue patch just is out of place.

Tampa is right there as a good jersey. Ottawa is a practice jersey, and the form of the logo is no help either.

Buffalo is a disaster, as we all know. And if you want a great jersey, go to the no-brainer route and buy a Detroit one. Beautiful.

Brodeur has had such a fantastic career and as a Flyers fan that kills me - and has frequently killed my team. That being said, he's starting to look just a little more human. I first noticed it towards the end of last year and while I mean no disrespect to the Lightning - who played very well last night - I think the beginng of the fall might be at hand for the mighty Brodeur. A first ballot HOFer for sure, I definitely won't lose any sleep if he and the Devils struggle!

I abdolutley love it when my hurricanes pull him out of the net.. hes been pulled from a game 3 times in the past 2 seasons for us =]

[including a 7-2 win last season]

Still love him though!

i feel your pain chris... i'm a flyers fan... he doesn't like to kill any other team as much as he enjoys killing the flyers.

As a Devils fan, I actually take this as a compliment. I'd love to have a well-read blog and be able to post photos every time Jagr misses the net, Gomez gets knocked on his arse, Gagne gets flattened, or Crosby cries after failing to draw a penalty.

Here's hoping you have very few Marty photos to post this year!
