Chris - Why do the Red Wings not have a poll? If you look at their vintage jerseys you can see that the winged wheel has gone through a noticeable tweak or two over the decades (you'll notice the wings have gotten larger and more streamlined relative to the wheel as times goes by), to say nothing of the gothic-D or striped jerseys from the 20s. It just seems odd that for polls for teams with long histories (most notably Boston or Chicago) you display a catalogue of logos with minor changes between them as poll options going back a good 80 years or so, yet don't do the same for Detroit despite their logo having gone though similar motions.

how is the new logo winning?

The new logo has a lock on the Cute Fuzzy Puppies vote. That's why it's doing so well.

To bad the Winnipeg Jets logos arent in there as well. "sigh" ah nostalgia.

Both of these really suck, but I like the psychedelic look of the old one. Whoooooaaaaaa...

The new one looks like it's been blinded. How do you play hockey blind? Which brings us back to the old logo. He's obviously ready for a hockey game.

Dude, wait it out. Not all of the polls are open yet. No where does it say that there won't we a Wings poll.

Speaking as an outsider, I always found the original Coyotes logo insane. And not in a good way.

I like the new one. But still think they could do better.

Love the Picasso/cubism old logo, but the new one works well too.

Logos using native artwork look really cool.
The 2003 logo just looks average.

How does a coyote knows what hockey stick is?

As a Coyotes fan having lived in the Valley from 2001 (good year) and all the bad years since... We LOVED the original look, but we definitely understood that it was only welcome in Arizona. It has way too many colors. Since the jerseys were white and black, we often wondered "What are the Coyotes' main colors anyway?" (You could see that some goalies of ours also had a hard time deciding this when getting new pads). The newer one isn't the best logo I've ever seen, but it works. Some design elements in both logos have some lore. The 4 ridges are the 4 big mountains that surround the valley. The reason for sand is obvious and in the desert in Sedona you can find beautiful natural red rock.

I personally could not stand the old logo and were glad they got rid of it. I find it strange that so many people are making positive comments about the old logo. I don't know why but I find the new logo and especially the new uniform to be my favorite in all the league. I didn't realize this until I came to this site and started imagining how my tournament tree would look and in my head Phoenix came out on top.
