woah now... two choices? what about the blue maple leaf with the "C"? what about the globe? what about the CA?

I find it funny that so many people cry and complain about not messing with tradition or history but it seems like the updated logos seem to win these polls more often than not (sure there have been some exceptions like the 1980's Pens logo beating the current one). We like what we're used to and generally we're going to vote that way. It's the same with people who trash the concept logos that some very talented people have submitted. 9/10 people trash it because it's something new.

The Canadiens have had more that two logos in their history.

There are far more than two logos in team history. This poll isn't going anywhere.

If you guys have been following the Logo History poll for the previous teams that have gone through it, you would have noticed that not all historical logos have been entered. I know that the Bruins, Leafs and Penguins did not have all logos represented either. I assume this is just to simplify things.

@sacredblue:

I can understand simplifying things - I don't need every single variation of the "CH" logo, but there have been some major changes in the history of the club that should be included.

I believe the maple leaf and "CA" logos were before the formation of the NHL. The globe was a one-year deal, and I don't think it was the official team logo - just something they put on their jersey to proclaim themselves world champions.

I think the choice of the two is just fine seeing all the others look practically the same

@ sacredblue (again)

your point of the logos being from before the formation of the NHL is taken. I just wish Chris wasn't interpreting his website name so literally! -- the blue Maple Leaf is my favourite.

@ hncreature

the pre-NHL Canadiens logos can be found here: http://sportslogos.net/team.php?t=1630

For me the real alternative logo for the Canadien should include the Stanley Cup with the Number of cup won so far in the history of the Canadien. A little bit like the patch of 1994.
