Panthers Unveil New Uniforms!

It's finally here everybody! The Florida Panthers unveiled their new Rbk EDGE jerseys tonight at the Year of the Rat Alumni Game. A generous reader pointed this image out to me so I'm posting it to share with everybody.

My initial reaction is very positive. These are sharp-looking uniforms with a great color scheme. I think I almost like the red sleeves better than a red sweater for the home duds, by the way.

These two images give us different views of the uniforms. The one to the left is a little out of focus (hey, better than nothing, right?) but you can get an idea of how they look on the players at least. Like I said, I like them. I think if anything they're an improvement on what they were wearing.

I'm still dying to see what the Lightning will be wearing this fall.

Big thanks to jrzman for pointing us to the original photos! You can find links to the original message board posts below in the comments if you're interested. When the team or the press make official photos available, I'll have them here as well to perhaps offer an even better look. What are your feelings?

UPDATE (11:49 PM): Nothing major, just got home from work and saw the Florida Panthers had a photo up on their web site of Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss in the new Rbk EDGE jerseys.

They really do look good and that panther on the front is bigger than I've ever seen it. Now we know what dynamic meant.

For the record, the photo is not mine!

I found it on the Florida Panthers boards, the user name is Holy Jokinen, its on the fourth page with three other pics.

The actual original poster is pb1300 on that board.

I stand corrected, Holy Jokinen posted the link from another site. The original poster was on the hfboards. That user name is pb1300. I'm in Canada, and copied the image url into a comment to share. Here's the board where the images actually appear. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks very much, guys! I'll be sure to correct the post and get the rest of those images up. You have no idea how much I appreciate your help.

Ok- i admit i'm not a panthers fan but was interested in seeing what the new jersey looked like (b/c your last one blew) - I can't see much of a difference. I thought your logo was supposed to change...nope. Ok, you went with navy and the stripes are down the whole way. My team (NYR) didn't have any fanfare for the new unveiling... b/c it 's essentially the same. But- for the most part so is this, right? Besides the yellow piping...am i missing something?

Colors and logo are fine. Though for me ANY Jersey with vertical lines is out!! Younger fans may disagree. It looks like the sleeves are half horizontal. Too much going on. Thanks for the pix!, I couldn't find it anywhere else on the web.

Thrasher's old Jersey

I dunno. I think that the home jersey (the dark one), brings up too many memories of the jersey in the link, for my tastes.

I have to say that the white one is a bit sharp.

what's different about these besides the lines (vertical)

For those of you having trouble differentiating between the new Panthers unis and the old ones, I have a picture for you to compare to. No difference in color or logo, just pattern. Horizontal stripes over the elbows versus wrist. Sleeve-length shoulder color versus triangular element on shoulders. No horizontal stripes across the bottom. Slight changes, but definitely for the better.

Hey Chris, I read on the Dallas Stars' message board that the Stars will be unveiling their new sweaters on Sept. 14th if you want to add that to your countdown. They also said that these 2 designs

design 1

design 2

were not what the final jerseys look like. Sorry to post this on the Panther's topic, but I didn't know where to put this.

Not a problem, I'm not picky about topics and such. Thanks for the Dallas Stars date. Any chance you might've also seen it someplace besides a fan message board? I'd like to post the date in the countdown, but I'd like to have the info from the team or a major media outlet of some kind. I'll do some searching around too and see if I can find anything on that. Thanks for the heads-up!

The message came from the Star's official message board from someone that works in their front office.

Here's the topic:

here

It's a little more then half way down the first page of the thread.

And then in the last post on the 3rd page, they say the other jersey isn't it either.

That'll work for me. Thanks, Josh!

MMM am I the only one thinking that the horizontal lines on the arms are completely messed with the vertical stripes?

Look at them...this design is unique, but also looks bizarre when you take time to check it.

There's something about the stripes mid-sleeve that still says "McDonald's" to me :(

I was there when they unveiled these trainwrecks at the Alumni Game. The silence from the crowd said it all.

Until it was broken up by the guy behind me yelling, "those things suck!"

I think the Panthers new jerseys are very nice, but I'd prefer not to have those thin RBK-style stripes on the front. Plus, I don't like the way the jersey design was done to have RBK logo stand out below the neckline on the back of the jersey. Overall, I am glad they kept the same logo as the primary crest logo.

I still don't like their logo, looks too much like a high school team logo.

The jersey design is too schizophrenic. How do you mix a vertical stripe running down the arms and horizontal stripes running across the sleeves?!?! Either have one or the other.

Anonymous said...

Terrible jerseys, as suspected. The logo is the worst part, as it has always been. Way too busy.

Another jersey WITHOUT horizontal bold stripes across the waist, like their OLD jersey had... Without a stripe the jersey looks weak, almost like a practice jersey, and too many teams have jerseys like this!

Anonymous said...

They look good with the stripes on the sleeves.

These jerseys are abolutely shocking. The person who designed them should be shot. I wouldn't even wear that jersey out for Halloween.

I think these jerseys are the worst new ones yet. To put it in short, the arm striping makes it looks like they are wearing capes.

What a nice uniforms, I prefer the white one, this is definitely the official uniform, the color combination is good and the teams looks full of great talented players. These tournaments are so exciting as the generic viagra pills. cheap viagra viagra
