The Unveiling
Wednesday, August 22. The Senators unveiled their jerseys at a fan event in Ottawa. Chris Neil, Brian McGrattan, Jason Spezza and Chris Kelly were on hand to model the sweaters.

Home vs. Road
Home: Red. Road: White. The two sweaters are essentially mirror images of each other with secondary logo patches on each shoulder.

The red home jerseys have a white panel on the elbows. The underside of the sleeves are black extending the length. There is white side paneling toward the back of the sweater. The collar is black and the primary logo serves as the crest.

The white road jerseys have a red panel on the elbows. The underside of the sleeves are black extending the length. There is red side paneling toward the back of the sweater. The collar is black and red and the primary logo serves as the crest.

In The Details
A new numbering and lettering style has been introduced.

New & Old
With the introduction of new logos, the uniforms have changed drastically. The swooping stripes on the old red jersey are gone and the overall striping patterns on both jerseys have been changed. There is really not to compare between the old and new sweaters.

Standard FAQ
Numbers on the front? No.
Laces at the collar? No.

NHLToL Editorial by Chris
Many have pointed out the similarities in style of the Senators' jerseys to those of the Penguins. That being said, these are quite plain as well. Not that it necessarily hurts this uniform set. But it could be much better. The red is very sharp. I'm glad they went with that over black for the home sweaters. The road jerseys, however, could use a shoulder yoke or something. There's too much white and not enough color. The logo doesn't work in favor of the white one. Looks great on red! In any case, it's still a solid effort, if not slightly boring. My favorite Sens' sweater, if you were wondering, was last year's black third jersey. 3/5

I just can't get behind these. I hate the 3/4 perspective logo. The original side perspective is much better and should have been the basis for any redesign.

I like the O on the shoulder. But the striping pattern is just too cookie-cutter (Pens, Lightning, been there, done that).

I don't know. Not bad. Not good. 3/5 at best.

Not crazy about the new main logo, but I love the shoulder patch.

The white/red blob on the forearm looks stupid. It looks stupid on the penguins too. Kudos to the Lightning for leaving it out. Too bad they're still wearing black. That blue jersey in the next post looks great.

Like the coloring on the jersey but do not like the logo at all - I liked the profile much better

Luckily I didn't hate last year's all-star jersey like so many, so seeing my team go with a simplified version of that doesn't hurt as badly as it could have. I loved last year's third jersey and was really hoping they'd go with something along those lines this year, but I guess not. The red jersey is rather striking, and while I thought the Sens had the best lettering and numbers last year (excluding on their road jerseys, of course), I don't mind the new style, reminds me a lot of the font used on the Canadian national jerseys, so that's acceptable. Obviously I can't be a fan of the template usage, but the Sens version does have something the Penguins (because they use two coloured panels) and the Lightning (because they use none), the white under the arm looks like some kind of "spike" on the back of the jersey, probably my favourite feature on these jerseys. I've never liked the 3/4 Senator, always preferring the profile version, I was really hoping to see the new profile Sen on the new jerseys, but I guess it'll just have to settle for being on a hat I intend to get at some point.

The only thing that kept me from rating these practice jerseys as a 1 was the fact that they're still better than the atrocities they wore last year. Worst uniforms in the league in my opinion(Last year), a minor improvement(But a decent logo).

i may just be paranoid...but why is it that the replica jerseys seem to look differnt from the jerseys worn on the ice?

first someone pointed out how atlanta lifted up their left arm wording closer to the shoulder...

now im noticing that the colors on the ottawa sleeves go up muuuch higher than the replica shows. its past the elbow almost by the numbering and it seems to take out much of that plain aspect in the jersey. also you can see a nice pattern under the arms along the side of their body when looking through the gameday gallery.

chris...are you reviewing the pictures of the replica? or the pictures of them on the ice cause it seems that a lot of teams did some last second improvements.
