Both of these logos are very good. I love the simplicity of the musical note for St. Louis, and the detailed beauty and ferocity of the Nashville logo. However, I doubt a flying musical note will strike anywhere near as much fear into the hearts of opponents as a giant animal with two foot long teeth roaring at you.

I vote Predators.

I'm casting my vote for the Predators. I don't really know why but I like both of theses logos and I especially love the colour schemes they share although I do hate that the Predators added grey it looks bad on a uniform.

Two bad logos...I feel bad voting for one because they're equally bad. The musical note could just as much be a piece of clip art or a logo for any other sport. Meanwhile, the Preds logo is too detailed.

I never liked the Preds logo, but they have a great color scheme. At least it's original. But their logo is way too mutch detailled. I don't know what to watch when I look at it.

The blues is kind of classic and represent well the city. Of course the Blues are winless in all the stanley cup finals they participated in, but their logo is not as bad as the Preds. Blues.

The Blues logo was never meant to be a "flying" musical note. It's a great logo. The Predators has a little too much going on. And what's a "predator", anyway? Blues.

The Predators' logo looks like a sock puppet.

im thinking, the predators logo is pretty cool alone, but i doubt its gonna look good on their actual jerseys and stuff... and i just plainly hate the blues :P

The predators logo has to be one of the worst in pro sports. Too detailed, too ugly, just all around bad. Blues all the way.

*Predators*

I think both logos are OK but with small improvements could be great. The blues is simple and nice but could use a little spicing up. They habe great colors. The preds is fierce but there is something holding it back from being really cool. None the less i like the preds better but it isnt anything great.

The Blue Note has meaning to the city of St.Louis. Simple, effective, to the point tpe of logo. It doesn't need to be a cartoon, fast food, keep their attention at all costs type logo like everybody elses.
What the hell does a predator have to do with Nashville anyway??
Go Blues!!! Down with kitties!

"In May of 1971, excavation began at the downtown Nashville site of what today is the 28-story First American Center. Construction workers drilled through 20 feet of solid rock before coming to a soft muddy area. Further digging revealed a cave containing the nine-inch fang and a foreleg bone of a
saber-toothed tiger, extinct for at least 10,000 years."

So actually the name does bear significance to Nashville

The Blues Logo was designed by Eric Idle of Monty Python. It is a rendition of a swallow attempting to migrate with a coconut. Eric did not specify whether it was a European or an African swallow.

Hey logo designer for the Blues:

We said we wanted a Bald Eagle for a mascot, not a BALLED Eagle.

This should be a no-brainer. Predators hands down. Any one who thinks different is clueless - and no, I'm not from Nashville! There's a reason Preds jerseys sell so well all over North America

Anonymous said...

Do they have predators in Kansas City or Hamilton?

Anonymous said...

the only reason i can think of for the preds jersey to be selling so well is a complete and utter lack of good taste. the thing is hideous, and the new ones are even worse. the blue note is simple and classic. the fanged kitten is an overdrawn, overdetailed piece of newfangled new millennium crap, much like the team it represents. c'mon. take another look at how beautiful that 64th note is. if you voted preds, now is the time to re-evaluate your life.

oh and the "balled eagle" comment was *almost* funny.

2 nice logos.

A classic logo vs new age...

Logos striking fear, don't think any logo is really intimidating now is it... And the fact that a Blues logo hasn't got anything to do with hockey? Look at all the other logos, hell there probably are 5000 teams with some kind of indian... And 3000 with some kind of wild animal... etc...

Blues

That's funny that a poster said, "..and utter lack of good taste. the thing is hideous, and the new ones are even worse." My question to that poster, if the jersey was pink with flowers as a logo, would you then buy it?

Anonymous said...

being the poster that the most recent anonymous poster quoted and posed a question to:

no. would you? what kind of question is that anyway?

Anonymous said...

"no. would you? what kind of question is that anyway?"

Just a little confused because it seems like you are wanting "pretty" uniforms. I even had to double check the page to see if this was about hockey or figure skating.

"no. would you? what kind of question is that anyway?"

Just a little confused. I even had to double check to see if this was indeed about hockey and not figure skating. An antonym of "hideous" would be "pretty." And so the impression I'm getting from the poster is that a jersey is either "hideous" or "pretty." To me, it's neither.

Anonymous said...

that's just putting words in my mouth.

some jerseys are easy on the eyes, i might even go so far as to say "good looking." pretty is not the word i would choose. some jerseys don't look as good. some are in between. to me, nashville falls on the lower end of that scale. the only reason i even mentioned their ugliness is because it was earlier implied that they sell really well because they look good.

there's no need to bring figure skating into this, the whole point of these polls is to judge appearances, so why mock people for doing so?

Who fears a logo? The Preds are nice, but IMO, the Bluenote the best logo of the post-expansion era.

Anonymous said...

I vote Predators. I like all the detail. It makes it look much cooler than a stupid music note and the mascot is a lot more fierce. For the guy who I didn't go to school and doesn't know what a predators is here is the definition for you - an animal that hurts and seizes other animals for food. And you voted for a music note?

Nashville's Logo is awesome. It is ferocious, and rather than pick a particular animal --Nashville Tigers?-- They used the Essence of scary animals.. "Predators" conjures up all the things that lurk and pounce and kill and have teeth and claws. However, the mustard-colored jersey was the stupidest idea in the history of sports *OR* fashion.

WOW!!! That Predators logo really strikes fear whenever I see it! Especially when it's on that babyshit yellow jersey. Please, the idea that a logo/mascot it supposed to intimidate opponents is a joke. The Bluenote is a classic logo that hasn't changed in it's 40 years. It has a historical meaning to the city of St. Louis and it's people. As opposed to a fossil that was found in a hole on accident. The Bluenote is simple, clean and classic as opposed to a busy, overdone computer generated pussycat that needs to see the dentist.
