The Rangers former 3rd jersey logo should've become their first logo for the new Rbk EDGE jerseys... it's so much better than writing rangers from left top to right bottom...
ReplyDeleteI actually like this three-quarters Preds logo, I even like it on the gold jerseys, hell, I'd hoped that Nashville might use that for their homes this season, BUT, that Rangers logo and jersey are the quintessential third logo and jersey, best in the league, no denying it--marvelous. (Though I'm not sure I'd be willing to call for it to become their default jerseys, just too much heritage there.)
ReplyDeleteThe Rangers absolutely have to win this tournament. Their alternate is the first jersey that I ever got for the logo rather than the team, and one of two reasons (Buffalo vintage being the other) that they should have kept the 3rd jerseys this year.

I too would have preferred a RBK EDGE jersey selection based on the Lady than when compared to the diagonal lettering.
No contest, the Rangers have this round and probably the entire 3rd jersey logo in the bag. IF they don't maintain at least 80% of the vote, I'll be dumbfounded. Who the hell likes that mustard color tigercat?
ReplyDeleteConsidering how much tradition and so-forth there is associated with the Rangers logo, you would think there would me more people opposed to changing it. But, I agree the lady liberty logo is way better, and if they did change it, I would hope they would keep their current logo as a shoulder patch or something.

ReplyDeletei like the tiger cat logo for the third jersey it is a pick over the dark home home jersey logo right now and for the rangers the sould what think the wild should do next season use the alternate as a home jersey and the normal home jersey as a alternate next season

one major problem with the rangers logo ... the statue of liberty is technically in new jersey. other than that, i'm not sure what lady liberty has to do with rangers. at least the preds logo is a predator.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the "just rotate a few degrees and add detail" school of alternate logo design (lookin' at you, Ottawa). And that Rangers logo is superb.
ReplyDeleteBut no, it shouldn't have become their primary logo. You just can't do a complete overhaul on a team with this much history (and besides, the
Blueshirts look good). Third jerseys at their best (Rangers, Oilers, and... pretty much no one else) were an opportunity to re-imagine a team with a different stylistic identity, without forsaking tradition.
A good third jersey is not automatically a good regular jersey. This is a classy alternate logo, but nothing more.
Considering we're talking the *logo* and not the *jersey*, I have to go Cat.
