Ducks To Debut New Unis

The Anaheim Ducks previewed their new Rbk EDGE uniforms on Wednesday evening via their web site, saying the debut will come tonight during preseason action against the Los Angeles Kings. That means hockey is officially back tonight everybody!



We did get a first look at the new home sweaters via a Maine newspaper yesterday. We still have yet to see the road jersey.

I'll post pictures from tonight's game as soon as I can. Be aware, however that since it's a west coast game, I won't be able to post anything from it until after 2 AM (Eastern). I will add those photos to this post.

    Interesting that the sleeve stripes were photoshopped out for the Maine newspaper photo... it made the shirt look odd.

    I still like the ones they used 2 years ago as their thirds. I really liked those ones out of all the Duck uni's. Oh well they aren't all that bad.

    not bad.

    But I dont like that type of NHL crest on the collar. I like when its on its own piece of fabric within the V-neck hole

    I'll say it again, that collar and bottom stripe looks like red, not orange.

    Wow...I figured once they changed jerseys they'd come up with something better than that slapped-together monstrosity they wore last year. This is awful, it's boring...ugh. Why bother?

    There is nothing wrong with the jersey. Hockey isn't a fashion statement. And if you think that orange is red you are color blind. At least they didn't combine every uniform they ever wore like the canucks.

    Let me get this straight... most of you like this terrible jersey, but hate the new Leafs jersey?? LOL! Wow. Anyways..this jersey is still an eyesore. Swirly lines have never done it for me. That style is already 10 years out of date.

    No "piping", that's a good start. The colour scheme is good but I'd prefer flat horizontal stripes. The logo sucks but I don't know what you'd do exactly with a duck. All in all, not as attractive as the Canadiens homes, not as gaudy as the Isles or Panthers, and not as bland as the Leafs new look.

    little thing called lighting.

    and to the person who says, what can you do with a duck. about the same thing you can do with any teams name. i.e(penguin, lightning, blue jacket, coyote, ...) need i go on?

    You might not like the jersey but I highly doubt its the worst in the leauge. It is far from that.

    I actually really like the color scheme of Black, Copper and Orange. It's different than Red and, pick your color. However the typed out Ducks logo on the jersey does look weak. Why not just use the D, with the webbed foot in it. On it own, not too bad of a logo. The type just looks wimpy and small. I'm just glad they went away from the corny disney inspired logos of the past. This jersey may not be the best, but it sure has been worse.

    The crest is significantly smaller on the new Ducks uniform. Kind of like the crest on the new Wild road uniforms. And I think on the Rangers new uniforms, the diagonal lettering is scrunched up making the diagonal too steep. The new Rbk Edge design limits crest/logo size too much. People have remarked where do the "C" and "A" go now on the new Rangers and Avalanche uniforms.

    I agree with retro. With all the uniform bashing that has been going on I am very surprised that people like this jersey. In my opinion this is quite possibly the worst jersey I have seen so far. It's hideous.

    Can someone explain why these are supposed to be so terrible? I loved the jerseys from last year, and these are exactly the same, other than the EDGE collar, and that the crest is smaller.

    Were you guys bashing on it like this last year?

    There's nothing exciting about this jersey at all. The striping across the mid-line bothers me because of its forced angle. Had they dropped that and just left the arm stripes, it would have been a little better. I'm not hot on the colors either but I understand they picked orange because of a Duck's feet. I'm sure there is a way to make a stylized Duck logo without making it cartoony.

    Terrible! There was one design I saw, I think it was somewhere on this site, with a dark green uniform and a nice duck logo that I thought was perfect. Why don't more teams take suggestions from fans?

    um they didn't pick orange cause of the ducks feet. They picked orange cause the team is in orange county.
