O h my the Bull is gonna win this for sure!
ReplyDeletebug v bull, one is relevant, the other doesnt have anything to do with the team name, still, im voting the bug, its just ugly
ReplyDeleteI don't mind either. That Mighty Duck is worse.
ReplyDeleteYa, the bug is ugly, but it's relevant, and it's never been on the front of a jersey.
ReplyDeleteCowstellation is going to at least the semis in this tourney.
ReplyDeleteTHE BUG IS NOT RELEVANT.
ReplyDeleteTHE BUG WAS NEVER RELEVANT.
Anyone who votes for the constellation over the bug because of "relevance" still has no idea what "Blue Jackets" means.
The Bull, by comparison, is far more relevant - it actually features, y'know, STARS, rather than a badly-recolored Confederate jacket on some idiot bug who STILL TO THIS DAY contributes to its teams' lack of respect.
Vote the bug. It's the only sensible way.
sorry, but regardless of "relevance", the Mooterus is UGLY as hell.
ReplyDeleteI also don't get the people saying the Stars logo is irrelevant. They're the Stars. A group of stars make a constellation. They picked Taurus, probably thinking it would go over well as a tough symbol and probably hoping it could lead to a team mascot. Plus, isn't Texas known for having a ton of cattle? Perhaps an Orion holding a hockey stick woulda been better, but a constellation is DEFINITELY relevant for a team named the Stars. This particular one simply is funny because of, well, an anatomical likeness.
ReplyDeleteThe BlueJackets logo is also relevant, but IMO, less relevant. Sure, the bug is wearing a Union uniform, but a bug? It's so cartoony and minor league looking. Why not a Union soldier holding a hockey stick like a rifle or something?
The bug gets my vote because better things coulda been done with the team name (as is evidenced by the hat logo and their current primary). The Stars, well, how much can you do with a star? At least they tried.
Re: the bug's relevance to Columbus, I just assumed that the "Blue Jacket" bug was invented to combine the imagery of the Civil War jacket and the bug known as the yellow jacket (wasp). There's no actual insect called a blue jacket, but there is such a thing as a yellow jacket, and the team's name is the Blue Jackets.. not too much of a stretch there
ReplyDeleteone of the mooterus' ovaries is bleeding... har har har
ReplyDeleteJust to tell you how much I hate the Mooterus. I have collected every third jersey from every team, EXCEPT The Mooterus jersey. That's how awful that thing is.
ReplyDeletemoooooooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteThat Stars logo is just horrible and an to their history.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way the the bug will win this one.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little unfair that the Stars logo gets so much crap just because somebody noticed that it kinda looks like a uterus. Yes, we can all see the similarity... but it still looks a lot more like a cow, which is what it's supposed to be. I don't see anyone dissing the Habs logo because it looks a bit like a certain male reproductive part.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm gonna have to vote for the bug in this one. He's just too ridiculous.
the bug has no relevance at all I just think they picked a bug because of the "yellow-jacket" wasp
ReplyDeleteRELEVANCE IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE! ITS WORST LOOKING LOGO THATS THE ISSUE! AND MOOTERUS IS JUST THAT MY FRIENDS!
ReplyDeleteThat bug is SO minor league. Kids league, even.
