Atlanta All-Star Jerseys

Don't know if you guys have seen these, but the new All-Star jerseys are out for the 2008 game in Atlanta.

Not too shabby.

By the way, Round Two of the Third Jersey Logo Tournament begins tomorrow so keep an eye out for that. Mighty Ducks and Sabres.

UPDATE (11/14 2:16 AM): My apologies on not providing a source. I think in my rush I just forgot. But as a few people pointed out in the comments, the images are available on the NHL.com Shop. I snagged them from there so I could show you guys and see what you thought. Sounds like most of you just like to be negative but to each his own. It's a hockey jersey, not a Renoir.

  1. i prefer the EAST/WEST shield type crest, but these are ok.

  2. Where did you find out about these? Are they for sale yet?

  3. not bad. but, i think the logo is a bit too high or the jersey itself is too long. there is too much negative space from the logo down. lowering the logo or some horizontal stripes would help. overall not bad for a one off jersey.

  4. They look ok. I think the loogs so the players number may be added. I have to agree with awildermode, would like to see some horizontal stripes. When I first saw the color they reminded me of the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets of the NBA. They do look better than the 2006 All-star jerseys.

  5. boring and ugly if you ask me.
the BEST all star game jerseys of ALL time were the 2004 all star game jerseys...by far.
-west with the green old school jerseys that said WESTERN diagonally like the rangers
-east with the white old schools with red trim/lettering that said EASTERN in the same fashion
just a reminder, for anybody who doesnt remember them (the game was hosted by minnesota).
these are terrible, bring back 2004's!
...or at least incorporate the stars' colors into them (it is in dallas, right?)

  6. @ Drew
You are a idiot. It is in Atlanta, last year it was in Dallas.

I agree that they may add the numbers to the front

  7. How quickly we revert to name calling.

I don't like these either, but eh.. it's the All-Star Game. I never watch more than a half-hour of it anyway.

I never miss the skills competition though!

  8. Drew, it said atlanta in the title how did you not notice?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Seriously?

That crest looks way too much like a fan contribution than something NHL players would wear... Like actually, where did those logos even come from?

I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but I think last year's were actually better.

  10. I love the content on this site, but I have yet to agree with its likes, these are pathetic. A hockey jersey should not have a bubbly font.

I prefer the classics and the retro...

  15. With the logo(Wordmark) as high as it is I wonder if the will put the player's number below it, like the Dallas black uniform.

  16. I coulda pulled a better design outta my ass. Seriously, the concept discussion at RBK HQ must've taken 30 seconds.

RBK Exec 1: Okay, 10 minutes to lunch, what's left to discuss?
RBK Exec 2: The NHL All-star jersies
    1: The NH-what?
2: You know, that little league we designed our patented Edge system for.
1: Oh yeah, what's their deal?
2: The Western Conference plays the Eastern Conference at the all-star game. I think it's in Alaska, like the Pro-Bowl is in Hawaii.
1: East vs. West? Put East on one, West on the other, add some stars, we'll make it just like the NBA all star jerseys, and lets take an early lunch.
    2: You're a genius.

  17. Those are not bad. Nice and plain, is better than busy piping and laces.

Too bad the annual game itself still sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Very plain, crests are too high.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't like the Tampa Bay/Pittsburgh look, it's kinda boring.

    ReplyDelete
  20. the logos look like they belong on the front of a laundry detergent box.

  21. daneykoisgod:
I was gonna post the same thing! haha. The stars emphasize "clean"

    ReplyDelete
  22. absolutely awful.
honestly, to imagine that the NHL spent more than 2 minutes on this design is preposterous.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I guess they are a little on the plain side, but they do beat those rugby looking things from the NA/World days.

    ReplyDelete
  24. washington:
    great minds think alike :-)

and simple minds conceive these jerseys :-(

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm not going to lie, I would be a fan if they did the Dallas home numbering. That'd make up for everything just for the kick of actually seeing that on ice. Freaky.

michael: Don't forget to include Ottawa on that horrid list.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nothing offensive, just really plain. RBK sure seems like their designers have some serious mood swings. They go from having way too much unnecessary junk cluttering things up to being bare bones and boring. A happy medium would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  27. More proof RBK is infiltrating and killing the NHL from the inside. These look awful. gy

    ReplyDelete
  28. Not sure why everybody hates them so much. They are not terrible. Sure they are not great, but they're just all star jerseys so who cares really.

Has anybody noticed that the authentic and premier versions look quite different?

  29. Not too bad, could be more busier

    ReplyDelete
  30. Drew said something about incorporating the home team's colours/design. i think this is a great idea. it seems that rbk/nhl want a new all-star jersey every year. why not design it to compliment the host city?

and daneyko is right, they do look like detergent boxes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. oh, and another thing...with the logo/crest being so high, does this mean the "C" and "A" are on the right like detroit??? sorry wings fans, it looks stupid on the right.

    ReplyDelete
  32. awildermode - noone can say the C/A-on-the-right thing is stupid as long as having player numbers on the front of the jersey is a reality

dennis - they're the jersey equivalent of EVE OnliZZZZZZZZZZZ

    ReplyDelete
  33. t :

whats wrong with rugby looking jerseys. rugby is possibly the greatest sport not on ice.

    ReplyDelete
  34. it's an all star jersey, who really cares? they look fine for a jersey that will be worn once. i like them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Boring. However, the West would be a good jersey for Tampa Bay. It's the right color scheme and has more goin on. Sad in a way.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The NBA Called, they want to know why they have to wear long sleeve jerseys this year at the All Star Game...Is it because of Iverson's Tats...call me back.

    ReplyDelete
  37. nathan: Either they're really different, or the sleeves are turned a different direction. But it still looks fishy to me.
