Canucks Unveil New Colors, Uniforms!

Take your first looks now. I'll have more in a little while. These images are from the streaming online video of the launch that took place this afternoon at GM Place in Vancouver.

  1. As a Canuck fan, I have three words:

    WORSE CASE SCENARIO.

    ReplyDelete
  2. They didn't need the word "Vancouver" above the logo. It would've looked MUCH better without that. The return to green and blue is great and the sleeves and everything look awesome, the back of the jersey too. Its just that wordmark on the front that looks hideous.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm not a Canucks fan, but what a letdown, they had some good colors to work with, and they bombed big time.

    ReplyDelete
  4. the colours and cret are fine
however the VANCOUVER chest is very unnecessary

    ReplyDelete
  5. UGLY
    so is the mascot

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think the vancouver canucks owe the NHL fans an apology. That is BY FAR the worst one yet.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think they look great! If you think they are awful lets hear why. Having "Vancouver" over the logo is a bit tacky but otherwise it's a fairly clean jersey and not boring at all. Well done

    ReplyDelete
  8. Choke me with a spork. I like everything EXCEPT the huge ass "VANCOUVER" on the front of the jersey. It's just too busy! What were they thinking with that? I like the return to the classic colors, but Goddess is the city name killing it 100%

    ReplyDelete
  9. oh, wow
i thought the unis would be pretty good after seeing the teasers, but that's horrible

    ReplyDelete
  10. Why did the have to add the Vancouver across the chest. As a hardcore Canucks fan, I've definitely been let down.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It is the same jersey as last year's vintage jersey. All the did is add the wordmark and update the logo's colours. I feel ripped off.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Whats up with Vancouver on the front it just totally destroyed the uniform

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree, "Vancouver" is not needed.

    ReplyDelete
  14. No need for the "VANCOUVER" on the front. It takes away from the impact of the crest.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I take it they cant remember what city to go back to, so they had to make sure it was big enough to read after they wake up from a concussion.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The VANCOUVER along the top make these fantastic jerseys hideous!

Too bad. Bet the Vancouver is gone next season (or soon after).

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm glad I didn't spend $1,000,000 getting that designed...

Did they add the VANCOUVER wordmark so the players would remember which city they played for?

    ReplyDelete
  18. sad. such a missed opportunity. the word "vancouver" on the front is amateurish. they could have had the city's name under the nhl crest à la nfl and it would have been great.

what a design mistake really. worse than the new panthers. probably the ugliest jersey in the nhl.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I loved the previous colours better. I aslo hate the "VANCOUVER" wording, but I think Vancouverites might appreciate it.

    Disappointed nontheless.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Are you serious? This has to be a joke. Why did they have to put Vancouver across the chest? Even that font is so generic. Wasted opportunity if you ask me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah, why the wordmark? and why not just add a slight green detail on the logo. It looks out of place with green on the jersey, but not on the logo.

Overall, it looks like a Hutch jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  22. OUCH! I think they should've learned from the Seattle Seahawks: That blue + That Green + Totem pole-esque logo= ugly uniforms.

I don't mind the blue and green combo, but there is way too much of that green. also I'm pretty sure people are going to be smart enough to know that its vancouver without it having to say "VANCOUVER"

after all the crazy hype, I am severely disappointed

    ReplyDelete
  23. So what ! are we so idiot that we don't recognize this ugly logo so they need to put their city name on the front ?

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's bulls***. They took the vintage jersey, put the orca on it and wrote vancouver over that? Holy s*** how stupid are these people? The horizontal stripes look like crap with the C. It's way too crowded on the front with the stripes, the orca, and Vancouver. Horrible job Canucks.

    ReplyDelete
  25. i say remove Vancouver from the front of the jersey and move them to seattle

    ReplyDelete
  26. Awful. The Vancouver looks horrible,a nd the Orca has always been childish. Great color scheme, horrible jerseys.

    ReplyDelete
  27. its the horizontal stripe at the bottom that turns me off

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hah.. haha... hahaha...

    Oooh wow...

    ReplyDelete
  29. colours? good. logo? ok. (the orca does look better in the new colours) 'VANCOUVER' writ large across the chest? awful, ugly, unnecessary.

can't help wishing they'd gone with that black and neon green concept posted the other day. there'd be no need to write VANCOUVER on that, everybody would know which team it was...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ridiculous…colours are good but I know where they play. If you are going to put the name in…at least make it discreet like New York or Dallas. Whatever happened to simple and clean?

    ReplyDelete
  31. i might be the first to say... i love it!

in fact, i was nervous about the vancouver thing, and i thought that they might put "canucks" at home, but the fact they left both of them saying VANCOUVER, i love it. its not about the image, its about the pride, this is who we are, this is what stands out the most, and never forget it, we're not about an image, we're about a single word/community, which we all make up. vancouver is part of our logo...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Almost perfect...by next season the out of place "Vancouver" will be gone.

    ReplyDelete
  33. everyone thats bashing it shut the hell up seriously it is not a jersey that makes the team but the players themselves look at 82

screw all you chacci materialistic snobs

    ReplyDelete
  34. well what else could you really expect from the same franchise that permitted the Flying V?

    ReplyDelete
  35. absolutely horrific
this coming from a big nucks fan

that word mark absolutely destroys the jersey

honestly - even the black & neon green concept looks better

    ReplyDelete
  36. the home uniforms need more white. i'm not looking forward to watching a bunch of blue blobs skating around this season.

    ReplyDelete
  37. HAHAHAHA, wuss ass canucks jerseys

    ReplyDelete
  38. hartford whalers!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I feel much better now about Ottawa's new unis. How long has Vancouver been in the NHL? Do they really think that hockey fans don't know who they are?
The composite logo on this site would have been much better.

    ReplyDelete
  40. whoever said that its the players that make the team... correct but you need a decent marketing campaign to have the money to buy the players... salary cap or not you still need money, and this is one hell of a way to start out

    ReplyDelete
  41. Were players and/or fans having trouble remembering which city they were from in the past?

    ReplyDelete
  42. A lot of people are saying this, and I agree, the word VANCOUVER vastly brings down the attraction of the jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is to remind the Canucks fans who they are chearing for. I LOVE the colors!! Hate the logo and the Vancouver on it. O well at least its not a flaming 'C' I wonder it the flamers will put 'Flamers' over top their logo??

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like them better then the other green and blue ones they where showing. And the writing of Vancouver above the logo doesn't go good. They didnt really need it. And why didn't they have Luongo show them of with the others. But overall I give them a 7/10.
    Go Canucks Go

    ReplyDelete
  45. R I D I C U L O U S ! What was the designer thinking when he plastered VANCOUVER above the logo!!!?? Kinda disappointed as a hardcore Nucks fan. If you look at the C on Naslund's jersey, you can see that it is soooo high up, god, all that hype for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Whats with the green cumberbun?

    ReplyDelete
  47. vancouver writing makes it ugly otherwise its ok why u othe nhl fans spazzing

    ReplyDelete
  48. 3 words piece of shit

    ReplyDelete
  49. At least we will all now who's playing. It should eliminate one question from the wife.

    What a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  50. the orca logo is so COOL....but the "vancouver" on the chest ruined everything...

    ReplyDelete
  51. The jersey was shit when you enter the league, you then had 4 chances to make it better...yet you choose to make it worse. By far gonna be the worse jerseys in the league.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ya right flames jerseys will be waayyyyyyy better, and guaranteed they wont say "Calgary" accross the chest.... hahahaha, Im gonna find it hard not to laugh the whole game on Oct 6 when "Vancouver" is in town

    ReplyDelete
  53. HAHA the Flames should FOR SURE put FLAMERS over top of their flaming C HAHA. Good idea!! Dont like the Nucks Jerseys but still love the TEAM!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Happy to be a habs fan...our jersey will stay the same, viva the original six! ...lolll

    ReplyDelete
  55. at least better than the yellow jersey with the big black " V " ....

    ReplyDelete
  56. The last time these colours where in the league...AKA THE WHALERS, they ended up in Carolina.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Awefull, I just dont understand how un hockey team let go such a plain and hideous jersey. For the Canucks the identity problem stays... As a graphic artist i understand the error. THEY MIX EVERYTHING... to make a pizza of all those bad design the Canucks add all those years. There is no contrast at all, i just dont understand and hope for the canucks fan this horror wonnt stay....

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is the Vancouver word necessary? No. Should the Orca have stayed? Maybe not.

Blue and green are the colors we SHOULD be wearing, so I'm happy about that.

They're not the sharpest jerseys in the NHL, but the ugliest?

You people need to give your heads a collective shake.

    ReplyDelete
  59. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS BOBBY LOU!!!! GO TO THE CANUCKS SITE WITH THE PICTURE OF LOU SPORTING THE JERSEY AND IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! LOOK AT IT AND BELIEVE...

    ReplyDelete
  60. They say that Vancouver across the chest is an ode to past non-NHL vancouver teams. What a bunch of b.s.! SO far all the fans hate that part!

    ReplyDelete
  61. as a canucks fan im so disapointed, i mean how can u take those buetiful colors and make somthing like that, those r horrible

    ReplyDelete
  62. Lets get something cleared up - it may not the jersey that makes the team, but its still quite important.

If you show up to a job interview in crap clothes, they're gonna treat you like crap.
And call me shallow, but if I show up to a business orientated job wearing nothing but something I picked up from a dumpster, thats going to affect how I preform too.

So screw your own narrow minded ideals of acceptance and get on with reality.

    ReplyDelete
  63. They should of put the players name above the logo....what did you forget were you play.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think they look pretty sharp...but I do agree with a lot of people here that the VANCOUVER seems unnecessary and clutters the front of the jersey. Colours are great, though.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's a really nice looking jersey in paying tribute to its distant past, but the only thing I don't like with it is what many, many people seem to hate here... the "VANCOUVER" wordmark on the chest. IT IS NOT NEEDED! If it was just the Orca logo on the front, this jersey would rank much higher on the list of new jerseys that have been unveiled this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Canuck fan in California here... for those of you that don't know... the "Vancouver" over the logo is an homage to the Pacific League Canucks.

    Now for my honest opinion.

I LOVE the Blue jersey.... the white however... is an abomination. My Canucks disappoint with a jersey yet again.

    ReplyDelete
  67. The new uniforms are just like the team has been for years GARBAGE!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. So after all this hype and buildup and careful consideration, they just throw the current logo on the retro jerseys and add a horrible workmark?

Anyone who thinks that workmark adds to the jersey needs their head examined. There's barely any room left for the A's and C's. The Canucks are forever cursed with hideous uniforms.

    ReplyDelete
  69. DO YOU GUYS HONESTLY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORD "VANCOUVER" IS THERE FOR HISTORICAL REASONS?
    You guys are idiots....

    ReplyDelete
  70. what do the canucks new jerseys and there team have in comment....THERE BOTH SHIT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Why the BIG ASS VANCOUVER across the chest????

    ReplyDelete
  72. question -} which team as the ugliest jersey so far ?

    a) vancouver's white
    b) florida's blue
    c) islanders' white
    d) stars' white

    ReplyDelete
  73. You people obviously don't play hockey - these are great sweaters. Classic old school feel with new age curb appeal. Word marking has been missing from the NHL for a long time. Hopefully the Dallas word mark rumors are true. ps. For those of you who don't like the fit of rbk edge, you simply don't know what your talking about. Ive played in them - they are revolutionary.

    ReplyDelete
  74. WHY!!! GOD!!! Vancouver across the top not needed, otherwise not bad, but still a big let down. Why not go back to the retro C/hockystick/rink. It's simple.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I guess they are so dumb in vancouver that they keep forgetting where they are from so the have to put it right on the jersey so they wont forget

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well, at least there's no bizarre striping on these new ones. But yes, it's a shame they used the wordmark. Have the Canucks joined the WCHA of the NCAA? (unfortunately it looks collegiate).

    ReplyDelete
  77. it looks like nonis barfed up that design after eating at tsu hang village

    ReplyDelete
  78. The city is nice....and the jersey and fans are ugly

    ReplyDelete
  79. if it was "just a jersey"... the canucks organization wouldn't have spent $1 Million on it...

these are horrible... i'll still cheer for my canucks... i'll just close my eyes doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. it seems like a kid designed it. The nostalgia for the old colors it's so boring, let's move on! look at the blue jackets, the improved that shitty logo they had...The "VANCOUVER" on chest it's one of the lamest ideas on a hockey jersey after the big " V" era..hope the nuck will find an identity in future...

    ReplyDelete
  81. All them Asians live in Vancouver, and yet you design such an lucky logo and jersey...ship'em back

    ReplyDelete
  82. "DO YOU GUYS HONESTLY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORD "VANCOUVER" IS THERE FOR HISTORICAL REASONS?
    You guys are idiots...."

Yea man, I get it. It still looks stupid though, as it doesn't fit with the modern logo.

Speaking of that, who decided that a stylized, curved C would look good with horizontal stripes?

    ReplyDelete
  83. First of all, I'll give the Canucks credit for not giving in to the trendy RBK style that has plagued other jerseys. There is trim on the bottom and there is no ugly piping down the sides. Hooray!

Having said that, this jersey looks like a bunch of ideas all rolled into one. It's like they couldn't decide if they liked VANCOUVER across the front or the Orca, so they chose both. With the exception of the New York Rangers, word marks on the front of a hockey jersey are a huge no no!

You'd think they would have just switched to the real vintage jersey, with the evolved stick in the rink logo. Vancouver sticking to something that's popular? Nah, too much logic in that.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I hope They didnt pay alot for someone to make that design because i have seen alot better ones that people do just for fun. Just One word needs to be said for the new jersey

    SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. BARF.

RBK Edge strikes again. The NHL is going from having some of the best looking uniforms in all of sports to having the ugliest by far.

    ReplyDelete
  86. a curved 'C'? really... whats that

    ReplyDelete
  87. 1 - love the colors
2 - hate the "Vancouver" lettering
3 - should have made the stick logo the primary and the orca the secondary logo

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think they could have been a lot worse and we should be thankful for a few positives out of it. The colours and the horizontal old school stripe pattern is fantastic. How many teams still have classic horizontal stripes?
The 'Vancouver' is a real retro thing going back to before the 50s. So many teams back then had similar lettering. People just aren't used to it and it could start a trend.

    Typhoon

    ReplyDelete
  89. what stars white jersey?? is there a new leak?

    ReplyDelete
  90. heres a hi-res pic of luongo from the canucks site:

    Luongo

    ReplyDelete
  91. so i guess Canadian teams only wear red or blue now

    ReplyDelete
  92. Maybe it's seeing it with goalie pads, maybe it's my metro-sexual attraction to Luongo, but I like the way the wordmark looks in that picture.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You had a chance to bring back Johnny Canack, and yet you bring back that stupid ass Free Willie Whale.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, I was prepared to hate it, but I have to say I think the new look is killer. It has a retro look, especially with the wordmark. These jerseys look tough compared to a lot of the other new "stylish" ones. This is a hockey team, not a modeling agency.

    ReplyDelete
  95. there should be a team canada symbol in that ice right now

    ReplyDelete
  96. Worst. Uniforms. In the NHL.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Ugly. The many different concept jerseys by fans were way better. the vancouver wording would've been ok had it been smaller. It just looks like a huge mess. Like some retard said "hey, lets mix the old jersey with the new logo and then add a giant VANCOUVER above it." they didn't even try to make it all work together.

    ReplyDelete
  98. If you hate this jersey join my group!

    http://hs.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4855852855&ref=mf

    ReplyDelete
  99. you guys paid money for that design, and their are freelance designers that have better concepts online. what a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  100. If not for the wordmark, would rank right behind Boston's as the best so far to me. I just don't understand why the wordmark. I see that they are trying to reach all Vancouver hockey history but why? Just the NHL history would have been fine.

    ReplyDelete
  101. RE:

what stars white jersey?? is there a new leak?

    August 29, 2007 4:25 PM

-} No, i meant the current one. which, you've guessed it, i find quite ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Its Bettman's fault *snicker*

Seriously...lose the Vancouver and these jersey are fine. I love the color scheme.

    ReplyDelete
  103. hate the VANCOUVER wording the rest is not that bad

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hahah, they did it again.
I guess with their identity crisis (numerous uniform changes in the past) "VANCOUVER” across the front is to remind them what city they play in.
Awful!!!! They had a chance to bring back Johnny Canuck but blew it.
No doubt in 4 years time it will be new logo and colours

    ReplyDelete
  105. I'm wearing my vintage stick jersey today, and I'm looking at the new jerseys... I kinda like em.

My biggest concern was colours, & we kept the blue/green. I'm not real big on the "Vanvouver" across the top, but it looks good on the goalie.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I don't know who I should vote as the worst logo in the NHL, the buffaslug or this hideous jersey?

    What do you guys think?

    ReplyDelete
  107. this is worse than the buffaslug

    ReplyDelete
  108. I love the jersey, but the Vancouver has to go.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Wow. That "Vancouver" is just awful. Like people have said, it will be gone next season.

I like the old colors and don't hate the orca, but these unis are awful.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Then they should just make the goalie have the Vancouver on his jersey. I like the colors, and the logo actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. It looks really sharp on the ice.

However, I didn't like the horizontal stripe on the bottom, and I thought if they had to put the City name on it, then at least make the letters smaller, it overpowers the rest of the jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  111. As a Vancouver fan, I actually don't mind the new jersey. The Vancouver wordmark is a nice throwback to an oldschool jersey, and they kept the key colours. All said and done, we could have come out far worse than this.

    ReplyDelete
  112. The wordmark just kills it, the front looks too crowded, and how will the fit a C or an A?

    ReplyDelete
  113. I love jerseys, but these are terrible. I agree that they would be much better without Vancouver written above the logo.

Chris? Did you get my Email? I sent the updated concepts.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Someone should start a petition with signitures or emails or whatever against the new canucks jersey. The Canucks should take a poll as to what fans like and don't like about the new jersey and what it is missing and maybe its not to late for it to be changed before they go on sale. As for the Vancouver being on the jersey, is it on the jersey for tourism/publiciy purposes?

    ReplyDelete
  115. I'm really surprised at the negative response. These are GREAT jerseys. They have stayed true to tradition with colur and design, and haven't adopted any of the horrible Rbk design element that have ruined so many of the jerseys seen so far. If I were a Canucks fan I'd be really pleased right now.

In reference to the Flames jerseys to be revealed on Sept 4th, don't get too excited about big changes. The teaser video on the Flames website shows enough of the jersey elements to confirm that they will be identical to the Quad Cities Flames jerseys revealed several months ago, i.e. the concept jesrey on this sight which was based on those jerseys is correct... no doubt about it so don't waste much time eagarly waiting for them... you won't be seeing anything ground breaking. The only design element that remains to be revealed is the shoulder patch. The flaming horse head is gone, and a new one will be added. I'm happy that the one element of the old Flames jersey that I did not like is gone (the "V" shaped striping on the abdomen), but they have unfortunately adopted some of the stupid Rbk piping that pointlessly polutes alot of the new designs. Oh well, could have been worse, but I wish they had stuck to tradition like Vancouver has done with great success in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I AM THE BIGGEST CANUCKS FAN IN THE WORLD AND I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT THESE NEW JERSEYS SUCK!!!!! THEY MAKE ME WANT TO PUKE IN A BUCKET AND THEN EAT IT!!!!!! ='(

    ReplyDelete
  117. Close but no cigar. I like that they went down the road Boston took in going with the horizontal striping instead of vertical, the blue and green are great, but that damn wordmark... Once they wake up and kill it from their jerseys, it'll be one of the best in the NHL.

    ReplyDelete
  118. The orca logo doesnt realy fits on the new jerseys...was great with the old jerseys. And please take the wordmark away.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I wanted to somewhere to vent, but I see I've been beat by everyone. I hope Zimmerman or whoever is responsible for this disaster reads ALL these comments because those are a joke. I saw so many nice concepts that I wished were chosen, but they go back to the '70s look, and to make it worse they add the scripting to the top. F'en boneheads! I guess I wont be buying one anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  120. The Canucks had such a fantastic opportunity to make things right. That whale HAS to go. The VANCOUVER lettering compounds the problem.
They should have consulted the fans in the first place. The Johnny Canuck logo, a la Luongo's mask, would have been great.
The moment they were released texts from friends across Canada came in, mocking the Canucks.
The Canucks should suck it up - given the negative reaction - and make some changes. The fans deserve better than this.

    ReplyDelete
  121. That "Vancouver" across the chest just looks brutal. If they wanted to pay homage to the original WHL Vancouver Canucks, then why not ditch the "Orca Bay" logo and bring back the "Johnny Canuck" (the hockey playing lumberjack) logo? The only thing nice about these jerseys is the return to aqua-marine and green. But everything else...Bleh!

    ReplyDelete
  122. I'm so glad that they're royal and not navy

    other than that, they're fine

    ReplyDelete
  123. shockingly bad!

to me, logo and jersey design has taken a serious hit in the last couple years. they should have went back to yellow and black. they experinced the most success with that scheme.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Has anybody noticed that the main logo does not contain the same colours as the uniform? I don't see any green in the logo or any grey in the jersey.... what a disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  125. REAL creative. Combined two previous Canucks jerseys into one and wrote "Vancouver" on top. I own every other Canucks jersey... not buying this one.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Ok guys at first I hated the horizontal stripes, but then I read this on the home page of canucks.com

"CANADIAN HERITAGE: (points to stripes) classic horizontal stripes honour our great history. We are Canadians, and we made this game"

Ok now I love the stripes. I love the "fuck the US and their RBK look" attitude.

Word Vancouver, although a tribute to the cup winning Millionaires, if far too large. I can't stand it, but I love the rest.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Looks like a collegial hockey jersey to me.

    ReplyDelete
  128. New jersey haa its still the same stupid whale. Everyone is going to run out & buy one yaaa right.

    ReplyDelete
  129. it does look pretty good on Luongo, though.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I'll give Vancouver credit. Nobody does UGLY like the Canucks organization.

    37 years of awful jerseys.

    ReplyDelete
  131. are they colorblind? it's... no words. the home one is okay, but that's not enough. and for the away jesrey.. no words.

    marketing

    ReplyDelete
  132. I heard a rumour that the whites are going to be the home jerseys again starting this year. Can anyone confirm this?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Not so bad. I'm born and bred in Vancouver and I like how it's a mix of retro and current. The "Vancouver" on the chest isn't that bad. At least it'll tell stupid moron fans who don't know where we're from, where the Cup is going to end up. They're my team, I support them and will buy a new jersey.

P.S. - There was this much uproar when they went to the Orca. You'll all get over it sooner or later.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I'm a fan. Good design, cool colors, always liked the logo. Putting VANCOUVER over the chest is okay by me; I don't think it matters either way. I guess it makes it look kind of old-school if anything. The 'Nucks aren't my team, but I am a fan of them. Better colors than the last set. Way better than the old German flag color scheme and unis.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I'm a diehard Canucks fan, and I guess I don't mind it, but I'd rather have it without the word mark, or if the word was contained in a circle or something, with the Orca.

PS . . . No offence Chris, but I think the thumbnail for the background on the 'Nucks logo shouldn't be green . . . it should go with the logo, like all the others.

  136. I like it...very traditional without all the business of piping and nike-ness. I agree the "vancouver" block across the top is unnecessary but all in all I really dig it. It is unique now in that nobody has this color combination...let's hope it lasts more than 5 seasons.

  137. If anything is wrong with that jersey its that they kept the orca logo, one of the worst logo's in the league.

The wordmark above the logo is, in my opinion, beautiful.

Quit b!tching, it could have been much much worse.

  138. anything to tie this team into the one that one the cup... IN 1915!!! hahahaha, so funny when someone makes fun of a canucks fan about never winning a cup.. some go "ya we did, with the Vancouver Millionares..." losers

    ReplyDelete
  139. OUCH!!!!

These are some nasty ugly sweaters.

    ReplyDelete
  140. The only thing wrong is that huge-ass VANCOUVER. Which, unfortunately, is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very wrong.

Oh Vancouver, so close, yet so far.

  141. An NHL logo, a wordmark, and an Orca logo. How much crap do you need on your chest?

Why not add the shoelaces and player number to it and call it a day?

Please god, no "PHILADELPHIA" above the Flyers logo when their uniform is finally made public!

  142. If only I knew what city they played in...OH they are from Vancouver! Thanks Jersey!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hideous!!! I'm just jealous of that 3rd grade designer who pocketed 1 million bucks from the Canucks. Just look at the jerseys from a distance and you can't tell what is going on...no contrast at all. Should have kept the colours but updated the 70's striping. And the logo's colours don't match the jerseys!!! Bad sign when a simple navy t-shirt with your logo on it looks 100 times better than an actual jersey. Not buying one till they take "Vancouver" off, or shrink it. Poor Naslund and the other Assistant C's will look the worst.

  144. These things look like some cheap knock-off you'd find on the clearance rack at Zellers. Other than that, great job, guys.

    ReplyDelete
  145. While I do think the new jerseys would look better without Vancouver, I still think they look pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I would have rather seen the Yellow, Red, and Black "V" jerseys than the useless ugly Wordmard over the logo.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Unbelievably ugly. I am shocked they would go that route. Old with new never works.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Brutal. Just plain brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Why did they add the Wordmark over the logo, it looks ugly...

    ReplyDelete
  150. The colors are great, I could live with the logo, but that VANCOUVER inscription just sucks! Feel sorry for the Canucks fans...

    ReplyDelete
  151. The jerseys would have been a lot better without the word-mark above the logo, but other than that they are gorgeous! I love how they have a unique color scheme.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I think that even the baby blue and neon green fake jerseys look better than these they are horrible!!

    ReplyDelete
  153. I like these jerseys wish they would,ve put the green in the logo and left out the oriningal orca on the away jersey loks weird but the stick oin the rink great relates to that jersey the vancouver realtes to the vancouver millionaires and the orca reltes to now and bcs native art. Then the bc colors and the candian sttripes. I like these ones better though www.kuklaskorner.com/.../canucks-uniforms.gif

    ReplyDelete
  154. oh c'mon Canuck fan, it's not like the Canucks have ever had one of the best jerseys in the league. Anything other than the old V jerseys is a step up...and its better than the old ones for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  155. it's def. different..nice classic colors and horizontal stripping...however the "vancouver"..call me crazy, but i honestly don't think it has to go completely, maybe just a little bit smaller...it creates a cool new hockey sweater concept..or maybe if they re-designed the orca "C" so that it would fit with a word mark like that...who knows

    ReplyDelete
  156. The only people who should be pleased with these sweaters are Buffalo Sabres fans. As of today they don't support the NHL team with the worst sweater. Move over Buffaslug and make room for the Vanorcas.

    Yes ... the Vanorca.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I think it looks really good to tell the truth. I would only change the logo on the home jerseys. needs more colours. just the blue and white is boring.

  158. the only and only problem guys is the fact the lettering is too big but its not the worst stop complaining its better than most of the canuck concepts i've seen its good and those fans that think this is a put down why were u so hyped in the beginning i personally think its better than the recent jersey i'm i wrong

    ReplyDelete
  159. I'm an Oiler fan, but with some of the concepts I've seen for the Nucks, I was very excited to see what a million dollar design looked like...What a ripoff! Everyone is saying get rid of the wordmark, I would go completely the other way... Kill the Orca, it's a corporate symbol, leave the "Vancouver". THEN it looks classic.

    ReplyDelete
  160. No wonder that the Canuckleheads are the 2nd worst team in the league (1st worst team is Calgary Shames). I guess that explains why they usually end up at the bottom of the NW Div. From an Oilers fan :P

    ReplyDelete
  161. Most of you seem to be on glue. The blue could have been a little darker but that's the only criticism I have. The wordmark celebrates the city, we get the stick and rink on the shoulder and the Orca is pretty cool. There's the vintage touch going back to the original colours. Hopefully the franchise doesn't change the colours EVER again so we can keep some sense of identity and tradition. Stop sniffing glue.

  162. very nicely bobby loops

  163. i know nicely said

  164. the new nucks unis are terrible! they messed up the logo big time!!

first of all the new team colors are royal blue white and green yet they decide to have alot of black in the logo? we must be the only team in sports who has a different color logo than whats on the jerseys.

the use of the vancouver wording would have worked better with the old stick and rink logo...it just doesnt work with the orca...

    idiots!!

    ReplyDelete
  165. VERY disappointed with Vancouver's new jerseys... but then again, when has their design department ever come up with a good jersey in the last 30 years? They would've been better off just going with the real retro blue/green/white jerseys because all they did was change the colours of the logo, add VANCOUVER and call it a day.

I wish I got paid to come up with this logo because I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.

Who else thinks that the big VANCOUVER has anything to do with marketing the city's name even more for the Vancouver Olympics?

    ReplyDelete
  166. I don't think these duds are that bad, considering the orca logo is still on it. The wordmark adds a little character above a somewhat dull logo. The jersey colors have improved as well. Those of you who think this is worse than the buffaslug mutation, give your heads a shake!

    ReplyDelete
  167. SICK! the best jerseys so far...

    ReplyDelete
  168. pathetic.

and I thought Nashvilles jerseys were bad!

its official...this jersey overtakes the Flying V as the Canucks worst jersey ever in team history.

seriously who is going to buy this crap? besides a few thousand Vancouver sheep who must absolutly have it because its the new, cool and trendy thing to have in B.C

I havent seen 1 decent new rbk design from any team....yet.

    they all suck.

    and im losing faith.

jersey sales will suffer and the nhl will switch back to the traditional style jersey.

these RBK jerseys will go the way of the Cooperall in a few years, they will be scrapped..hopefully (remember when the Cooperalls were called cutting edge technology?)

  171. Bad, bad, bad! Just really BAD!

  172. The wordmark is just too big...other than that, it's pretty good.

  173. I'm sick of, "oh the word mark, ew," it serves a perpous a a historic logo, the Vancouver millionaires. all in all, a very sharp uni.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Its a jersey who cares as long as they play good who cares. The jersey doesn't effect the game its the way u play.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I'm also completely disappointed in the change to the secondary stick the rink logo. it looks ridiculous now, before it was shaped nicely like a hockey stick, now it just looks like a 4th grader drew it

    ReplyDelete
  176. First, I got tired of trying to read the 180+ comments, although the comment of 37 years of ugly jerseys was funny.

"Vancouver" across the front is an homage to the Vancouver Millionaires of the Pacific Coast Hockey League that operated until 1925. I believe they won two Stanley Cups. I was opposed to it at first as well, but once I found that out, I recognized it for what it was, a nod to Vancouver hocky history. Not just Canucks.

    ReplyDelete
  177. don't complain too much people its just a jersey and by the way its better than lots of other rbk edge jerseys so relax EVERYONE GOD!!

    ReplyDelete
  178. All you people who are defending the "Vancouver" wordmark because it pays tribute to the Millionaires are way off. Sure, the Millionaires played in Vancouver, but that's about all they have in common. The Millionaires played in a different league, with a different name, 50 years before the Canucks ever existed. That's be like the Senators unveiling their all new uniform and *gasp* it's the 1905 Silver Seven black, red, and white striped piece of art. Sure it's history, but that doesn't make it suitable for use on what's supposed to be "new and improved".

And by the way, the wordmark would be so much better if it was about 1/2 the size.

    ReplyDelete
  179. whatever man! the millionaires do play a part in the history because the history is not just about where or when, its about the city, its about vancouver, thats what makes the logo! i think if the font was 1/2 the size, whats the point?? thatll look uglier! if theyre gonna put the vancouver on, it should stand out, it looks great the way it is, i cant wait to buy one, because im a proud canuck fan and this is definately awesome. no other team thinks about putting as much thought into a jersey.. other teams just think about image and what "looks" good, this jersey isnt about that, its about the pride of vancouver, which is HUGE

    ReplyDelete
  180. As a canuck fan, i love it too.

there is meaning to everything. in the video it says "it's been a long and curious road, but we are now vancouver owned again" talking about the ownership of this team. it should VANCOUVER loud and proudly. lets support our team and their logo. i dont know why everyone wants to be negative, thats not what vancouver is about.

    ReplyDelete
  181. GREAT LOGO WITH THE INCORPERATING OF THE CITY. ITS PART OF THE LOGO, SO ANY SMALLER AND A SMALL LOGO WOULD LOOK OUT OF PLACE.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Looks like something from a beer league. "Moose's Tavern" above the logo ... Disappointing.

    ReplyDelete
  183. oh man.... i feel sorry for canucks fans everywhere.... so many leaks that looked soooo good... and then you get this. i love the white orca though, and the stick in the rink looks good... but the "VANCOUVER" over the orca ruins the whole thing... and they definatley could've gone a little more modern... it's not really jersey the makes it look bad.. it's that terrible wordmark, but all in all? still hideous.

    ReplyDelete
  184. wow....as a canucks fan i was really excited to see what they were going to do...however after seeing it i wish that they hadn't revealed them yet...the colors and the symbols are sweet....but what the hell were they thinking throwing the word vancouver on there....it just looks like too much stuff thrown onto one jersey
